This course “Dog analysis and puppy test” is currently only available in german language.
Part3/3 – This course is suitable for breeders, athletes, judges and prospective breeding judges who would like to gain deeper insights into the harmonious anatomy of dogs and recognize changes in functionality and health.
In the basic webinar (Part1/3), you learned about the functional, moderate body structure and how important the right proportions are for efficient movement. In “Fit for Sport and Breeding” (Part 2/3) you learned how to recognize abnormalities and weak points and find the reason for them.
Here in the 3rd part we introduce you to the puppy test. The focus is on explaining the procedures and tests. The tests are mostly the same as for adult dogs. For this reason, this webinar is recommended not only for breeders, but for everyone. We can already identify the most serious weak points in the puppy test. At the tender age of 8 weeks, deviations are already apparent, for example whether the puppy has a sheep’s neck, a herring belly, a steep front, a swayback, too long loins, too narrow thighs, tilted ankles or rolling balls.
Unfortunately, puppies are often selected based on their color or gender and sometimes a temperament test is carried out, but unfortunately the body structure is clearly the most neglected criterion when buying a puppy.
The aim of every serious breeder should be to place the puppies in the best possible home, especially with regard to their later use. The puppy test makes it possible to select the most typical and anatomically best-built puppy for breeding/shows and to place only structurally good puppies with athletes. Every breeder has 50% of puppies that are neither suitable for breeding nor for sport.
Dogs with physical defects are by no means inferior! They often have the most magical nature or the best nose and can lead a long and happy life as a family dog. It is important to recognize the weaknesses and to place the puppies honestly, to the best of your knowledge and belief, so as not to overburden them with health restrictions.
